In order to grow our Clean Boats /Clean Waters program to staff three Tri-Lakes boat launches this summer, we are looking for three watercraft inspectors to educate boaters on how to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. These positions pay $15/hr. throughout the summer.

 

Tri-Lakes Management District in Rome, Wisconsin is seeking three watercraft inspectors for the summer of 2023. The primary duty of these positions will be inspecting watercraft entering or leaving the lake and offering educational materials to boaters. Each position will be rotated among our three public boat landings. These positions are excellent resume-builders for future careers in natural resources or environmental law enforcement. Inspectors are also required to attend a Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) training on proper watercraft inspection procedures following the DNR’s CBCW program protocols. (Training is on paid time and is usually 2-3 hours.) Prior experience with these topics is preferred, but not required. Experience with public communication and/or public service preferred, but not required. Reliable transportation is required for these positions. Transportation to training and orientation locations, and daily transportation to and from the boat landing is not reimbursed. Employment will run from approximately May 26th through Labor Day.
